WHO IS HAUNTING DRASHTI DHAMI IN AUSTRIA?
We’ve all heard of supernatural stories from the sets of horror shows, but this one from the sets of a love story based in Austrian backdrop takes the cake. Drashti Dhami shares, “We reached this hotel in Austria and as soon as I entered the elevator, it shut and the lights went off. There was no one else with me inside but I could feel a chill run down my spine.” Drashti did what we would all do right then. Scream, escape and never return. But the horror story didn’t end for the leading lady of the show Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil as she moved from one scary place to another. She adds, “As I entered the other hotel, I could feel someone following me when I walked with my bag from reception to the lobby and onto my floor. When I turned back, I felt like a doll was following me.” Drashti, did she watch too many horror flicks of late? CHIRANJEEVI TO HOST TELUGU KBC
Star India’s Telugu GEC Maa TV is all set to launch the next season of MEK (Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu), the Telugu version of KBC. The Channel has roped in Telugu matinee idol Mega Star Chiranjeevi to occupy the hot seat that was with Nagarjuna for the past three seasons.This will mark the entry of Mega Star Chiranjeevi into Telugu Television. Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu season 4 on Maa TV will commence from 12th December on MAA channel between 8:30 PM – 9:30 PM from Monday to Thursday. After successful inaugural season the succeeding seasons witnessed dwindling numbers and the third season of MEK witnessed very disappointing numbers and the channel has planned to bring in Chiranjeevi in place of Nagarjuna. Nagarjuna’s look, knack of communication, and spontaneous response made the audiences to have great fun and it will be interesting to watch how Chiranjeevi will be catching up in the hot seat. The show is being produced by the format owner Synergy Productions. Currently, Chiranjeevi is busy shooting for his 150thKhaidi which is getting shaped in the hands of V V Vinayak. Ram Charan is producing this high budget flick slated to release on during Sankranthi, 2017. Kajal Aggarwal is the love interest of Chiranjeevi in this action-drama.
THE CANVAS OF MYTHOLOGICAL SHOWS IS BIG: NIKHIL SINHA
Nikhil Sinha is a name known to all of us and recently the popular maker got one more proud moment to cherish. His popular show Mahadev which created history in Hindi GEC sector also created a huge buzz in South India. When asked he says, “Mahadev is a universal concept and subject, it is the power of content which made that show a cult one. Currently Mahadev is coming on Star Suvarna for 1 hour 5 days a week. It is doing phenomenal for the channel and it has become number 2 now. It’s a remake and has Kannada actors and they have been shooting in Mumbai.” Nikhil Sinha’s other popular show Siya Ke Ram is also doing very well, commenting on that show Sinha adds, “It is a different attempt towards Ramayan and people accepted and loved it and known to be very respective show in terms of content. It has been a benchmark in the making standards of the industry and given good numbers and gave a firm positioning.” Why are you only making mythological shows? Sinha ends with a short and crisp reply,” The canvas is very big.
JAMAI RAJA COMPLETES A GLORIOUS RUN OF 600 EPISODES
Jamai Raja completed a glorious run of 600 episodes. With its unconventional concept that defied television stereotypes, Jamai Raja soon became one of the most loved soaps on TV. This major milestone called for a grand celebration and a cake-cutting on the sets by the cast and crew. The show recently took a 20 year leap and introduced a major twist in which Roshni and Sid die, handing over their son to their nanny, who runs away with him. The son Satya (also played by Ravi Dubey) grows up in a basti and is rough around the edges as a result of his upbringing. The current track sees Satya in love with Mahi (played by Shiney Doshi), the heiress of a large empire. Aware of the ulterior motives of Payal, Mahi’s stepmother (played by Mouli Ganguly) who only wants her property, Satya vows to marry her and protect her from being financially exploited by her own family. Ravi Dubey who is currently down with Dengue could not be a part of the celebrations on the sets shared, ‘The show is a trendsetter and a game changer. It is the first show to have focused strongly on its male lead in a domain where female protagonists rule the roost. I have worked in the industry for almost 12 years but the last 2 years as Jamai Raja have been incomparable. ’’ Mouli Ganguly who plays Payal, Mahi’s step-mother shared, ‘The show has completed a glorious run of 600 episodes only because of the constant love and support of the audiences. I was not a part of the initial Jamai Raja family but joined them three months ago.
