GOOD NEWS FOR MUMBAI CITY

Current Water Level in the Lakes supplying water to the city brings relief .

One of the seven lakes which supplies water to Mumbai city . Tulsi Lake is the first to have started overflowing on Tuesday , last year Tulsi lake started overflowing as late as on 22nd September 2015 .

The second largest lake of  Mumbai is located at Sanjay Gandhi National park in Borivali , Mumbai . The other three Lakes namely  Vaitarna , Bhatsa and  Tansa are also main water suppliers to the city .

The current approximate percentage wise levels in other Lakes supplying water to the city are on the rise as mentioned .

Modak Sagar  55%

Tansa Lake 55%

Vihar lake 50%

Upper Vaitarna 55 %

Bhatsa Lake 63%

Middle Vaiterna 50 %

It is said that after good rain fall the current level in the lakes are 33% more on average in the last 10 years . The BMC had imposed water cut since August last year of 20% for domestic users and 50% for commercial establishments , with the current lake levels showing satisfactory picture the BMC has withdrawn the water cut with immediate effect .
