For the first time in the history of A catholic church in the UAE or may be even in the GCC countries, Iftaar was held at St. Michael’s church Sharjah parish hall, where more than 500 poor laborers were given love, respect and Iftaar. In the presence of his Excellency Sheikh Salem, prayers were said and they were treated to a sumptuous meal.

This is in line with what Pope Francis preaches to the world, go beyond your borders and reach out with Love. In this great country of UAE, where the local rulers of all the Emirates, always supported us and given us the freedom to practice our religion,This is a great thing. Praise God!!

A very Dynamic Arab Priest has joined St. Michael’s church and this is his idea. He even went out of the way to motivate the youth and send them to traffic signal everyday at 6 pm to distribute dates and water to the motorists and when asked which group this was, they were amazed and happy that a catholic church is doing it. Praise God!!

It was very nice to see that after the laborers had come in and settled down, Fr. Maxim went about greeting them, patting them on their backs and with a big smile welcoming them. No Doubt the function was a big big success with everyone going back with  a sweet experience and a taste of christian Love.

God bless the Rulers of UAE and God bless our Pope Francis. The event was also telecast in the local news channels .
