Mediterranean cuisine is growing in popularity, and the most relished are the kebabs. Sheesh Taouk which literally means Chicken on Skewers is one such food. Juicy and tender chicken pieces cooked in ingredients that are simple yet full of flavors. Presenting my version of Sheesh Taouk……
- Boneless Chicken – 1 kg (Preferably thighs) washed and drained
- Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tablespoon
- Olive Oil – 1 tablespoon
- Curd/Yogurt – 250 gms
- Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
- Salt – As per taste
- Pepper – ½ teaspoon
- Cumin Powder – ½ teaspoon
- Garam Masala powder – ½ teaspoon
- Cheese cubes – 3 nos
Cut the chicken into one inch pieces.
In a blender add all the ingredients and prepare a smooth paste.
Apply the marinade to the chicken pieces and keep in refrigerator for 2-3 hours.
Prepare the skewers with the chicken and some diced onions, green bell pepper, and tomatoes.
BBQ these on charcoal fire or oven or you can even pan grill them.
Serve hot with desired dressing or green chutney…..
TIP: For spiciness you can add a few green chilies while blending all the ingredients…..
